This past weekend we had family in town for a visit and we had the best time. On Friday morning we decided to take a trip to Fir Point Farms in nearby Canby. I've only been there to get pumpkins so I really didn't know what to expect at this "off season" time of year, but we thought it would be fun to check it out.
When we arrived, the roadside stand was open with fresh fruits and vegetables out for sale. The field was mostly bare except for an area where the sunflowers and corn were planted. They were beautiful! The colors were vibrant burnt reds, oranges and yellow and they stood taller than me (I'm 5'1"). The girls chose a wagon to ride in and we headed down the path, not knowing what lay ahead because we couldn't see around the bend very far. It was a fun little adventure with a lot of, "Where are we going mom?" coming from the wagon.
We fed the goats, talked to the chickens and rooster, tried to take home the baby bunnies, and ended the morning with fresh blueberry muffins and an apple outside next to the beautiful sunflowers. It was such a nice morning out!
