The Little House Mom who couldn't sew...

When I was a little girl, and then later as a teenager, and then later as a young adult, my dear mom tried to teach me how to sew. She tried to instill in me a love of sewing. The same one that she had in her. She also tried ( by doing so herself) to show me how to be a good home maker. Unfortunately for me, I was stubborn and convinced that not only would I not be a home maker, but I would hire someone to do all that house keeping stuff, and I would never have children, and I'd marry a man who loved to cook and clean...that is if I chose to marry at all...blah, blah, blah.

Well, if you know me, you know how silly that all sounds now that I am a happily married, homeschooling mother of three daughters. God must have thought I was so funny when I was young adult. I had no clue of the amazing journey he had planned for me. If I had any wisdom at all back then, I would have paid attention to my mother! But, I didn't and that is why I am here today to tell you about....

My latest sewing adventure! Da-da-da-daaaaaaaa....

I am (well, to be honest it's more like WE are) going to make chair pads for my dinette table because I cannot find them anywhere to fit my odd sized chairs. Believe me, I've spent months looking in order to avoid making them myself, and now here I am... making them myself. What's even more amazing is that my Fabric Store Phobic husband went with me into Joanne's Fabrics and helped me pick out the supplies I'd need to make the pads. Isn't he the best?

I thought it would be fun to take you along the ride with me. Here are some before pictures:

The pad and some of the material Rob and I found on sale. What a bargain!

The whole family got into the project. Roo and Whinnie were busy cutting foam and wrapping their own pillows with Kanga Mom and Grandma:

Tigger, not to be outdone, jumped to her hearts delight on the big foam pad on the floor before it was cut up into chair size pieces:

The original Kanga-Mom: The woman who helped make it all happen. I owe her a debt of gratitude for devoting her time to this latest project. Thanks Mom!!!!

Christopher Robin was a big help too. He was being silly for the camera, but he helped keep the kids busy and helped us clean up the mess we made. Thanks Hon!

And now for the moment you've all been waiting for...the finished product...drum roll please...

TA DA!!!!!!
